Stertil-Koni Lifts up the Arts and Supports Community-Building at Bailey’s Café in New York For Immediate Release:
STEVENSVILLE, MD June 28, 2018 – Heavy duty vehicle lift leader Stertil-Koni once again has made a $10,000 donation to Brooklyn, New York-based Bailey’s Café, a 501(c) (3) charity dedicated to providing creative and collaborative environments to community members in the Central Brooklyn area as well as communities across New York City.
The group is especially well-known for bringing its vision to life through partnerships with local leaders and inter-generational volunteers – all focused on community-building through service and the arts.
As the organization’s founder and director, Stefanie Siegel, notes: “We believe in nurturing and guiding individuals in their pursuit of self-knowledge through acting, video making, writing, service, cooking, music, dance, and fine arts. We aim to create an atmosphere of collective awareness, respect, and responsibility, built on the talents and resources of the community.” Added Stertil-Koni president, Dr. Jean DellAmore, “It’s an uplifting mission that is indeed making a positive difference in the lives of so many. That’s why Stertil-Koni – a company that is also dedicated to the lifting process – in our case large trucks and buses – is so proud to have helped Bailey’s Café bring to fruition its beautiful location where people can come together and express themselves through art, dance, writing and more.” In addition, support from Stertil-Koni benefits year-round activities at the Café, including after-school programs, summer camps, and art programs for young people, as well as fostering platforms focused on community-building and inclusiveness.
Young people demonstrate a “tree pose” (yoga position) with their eyes closed, during Bailey’s Café’s six-week free arts-based rites of passage summer program for young people ages 9 to 19. The lessons focus on specific artistic disciplines and explore self-expression, creativity, self-discipline and confidence building.
In making today’s announcement, Siegel emphasized: “Stertil-Koni has supported Bailey’s programming for four years. They have been tremendous to the Café, helping us to reach new heights in our mission to provide an inclusive and safe place for multiple generations to express themselves and grow as artists. We are honored to have them as a member of Bailey’s Circle of Angel Donors and look forward to continuing to build our partnership.” Concluded DellAmore, “Stertil-Koni is delighted to join Bailey’s Café in its journey of developing artistic talent and inspiring change through the arts. It’s a noble mission with real-world benefits for people living in the greater New York area.”
