The Sacred Womb: A Healing Space is the life work of Marie Matthew and Veronica Blakely-Ewart, both Reiki masters as well as certified and experienced in a variety of other therapeutic healing arts.  Marie and Veronica offer Reiki to the community on the first and fourth Thursday of the month.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.  It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.  If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.  The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words:  Rei, which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki, which is “life force energy.” Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”

Marie and Veronica use their expertise “to assist the human to heal themselves of dis-ease of the mind, the body and the spirit…to give the individual a safe, affordable space to become whole and find balance on the physical, the emotional, the mental and the spiritual levels of the body.”  The ultimate goal of The Sacred Womb is to contribute to creating a healthy community, society and world.
